Grease splatter screen vs paper towel tent – thoughts?
Quick poll: I’ve been holding a paper towel over the pan to stop splatter but it’s annoying and wasteful. Is a proper grease splatter screen for frying pan actually better or about the same? Real experiences welcome!

The screen wins hands down. Paper towels soak up oil but don’t let steam escape well – food ends up limp instead of crisp, and you go through so many. A metal screen blocks flying grease while allowing airflow, so bacon stays crunchy, eggs fry properly. My kitchen stays noticeably cleaner too – no more greasy paper bits everywhere. I use a stainless one almost every frying session; it’s easy to clean (just rinse) and lasts forever. This one has a nice sturdy build and good coverage – grease splatter screen . Way more practical than the paper towel hack.
