Dias said that unlike other open-world game The Elden Ring map does not always show the most recent changes, although it does provide tools to enable you to mark the map manually.
Still, the pared-back UI complements Elden's strengths as an exploration game that is open to the world. The minimal HUD allows you to explore through the Lands Between unimpeded by objective markers or unnecessary icons. It's easy to get lost without feeling pressured into accomplishing this mission of defeating the boss. It's calming and, more specifically, it's a boost of energy because the game rely on you to get there, whether it's through the guidance of guides, intuition, or all three.
